Air Algérie to Receive Three New Aircraft by Year’s End

Algiers, December 17, 2025 – Air Algérie is set to bolster its fleet with the arrival of three new large aircraft before the end of the year, according to Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud. The announcement was made during a parliamentary session held last night at the People’s National Assembly, where lawmakers were debating the new traffic law.

Minister Sayoud, while addressing the assembly, stated that this acquisition is part of a larger initiative to modernize the national airline’s fleet. The program includes the purchase of a total of 18 new, large-capacity aircraft.

“These three aircraft will be delivered before the year concludes,” Sayoud affirmed, “and will join the Airbus A330neo, a 308-seat aircraft, which was received in November.”

This expansion aims to improve both international and domestic flight operations. The addition of new planes will allow Air Algérie to offer more routes and increased flight frequency, enhancing connectivity for passengers.

In related news, the Minister also revealed that the airline has purchased 16 new ATR aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June of next year. These smaller aircraft are expected to significantly strengthen domestic air transport, providing better service to regional destinations within Algeria. The acquisition of the ATR fleet signals a commitment to improving accessibility and boosting economic activity in the country’s interior.

With these strategic investments, Air Algérie is positioning itself for future growth and enhanced service delivery, solidifying its role as a key player in the aviation sector.
