Algeria and Chad Discuss Energy and Mining Cooperation

Algiers – Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane received Chad’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology, Ndolenodji Alixe Naïmbaye, at the Government Palace on Wednesday. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for cooperation in the energy and mining sectors.

Minister Naïmbaye delivered a written message to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune from Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. The discussions highlighted the strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between Algeria and Chad, with both sides expressing a commitment to deepening collaboration.

The Chadian Minister conveyed her satisfaction with the outcomes of her visit to Algeria and the prospects for joint projects. She emphasized Chad’s interest in leveraging Algeria’s expertise and building a strong partnership in the fields of energy and mining.

Prime Minister Benabderrahmane reaffirmed Algeria’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation with Chad across various sectors. He pledged Algeria’s support for Chad’s efforts to develop its hydrocarbon, energy, and mining industries, in line with the shared vision of President Tebboune and President Déby Itno. This vision was initially discussed during their meeting on the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Fair held in Algiers last September.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab. The discussions signal a continued commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations and unlocking the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships in key sectors.
