DZWatch has received reports of ongoing heavy thunderstorms impacting numerous inland and Saharan provinces of Algeria. Significant rainfall amounts are expected, prompting a weather alert for several regions.
According to our sources, the provinces of Tamanrasset and In Salah will experience continued thunderstorms until 3:00 PM today, with rainfall reaching up to 30mm. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
A more severe weather warning is in effect until 6:00 AM Friday for El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Ghardaia, and El Menia. These provinces are bracing for heavy thunderstorms and rainfall exceeding 70mm. Authorities urge citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and remain vigilant.
Furthermore, Tiaret, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, and Naama are forecast to receive thunderstorms until 3:00 AM Friday, with rainfall potentially reaching 40mm. Localized flooding is possible in these areas.
The weather alert also extends to Illizi, Ouargla, Touggourt, El Oued, El M’Ghair, Ouled Djellal, Biskra, Batna, and Khenchela. These provinces are expected to experience considerable thunderstorms with rainfall exceeding 50mm until 9:00 AM Friday.
