Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle near the Qalandia checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, on Thursday. One Palestinian was arrested from the vehicle; their identity remains unknown. Simultaneously, multiple raids, arrests, and assaults were carried out across the occupied West Bank.
According to officials in Jerusalem, the Qalandia checkpoint was temporarily closed following the incident. No injuries were reported at the checkpoint.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, reports indicate that Israeli forces detained several young men in Kafr al-Labad, east of Tulkarm. In Burqa, north of Nablus, Israeli soldiers allegedly assaulted several youths during a raid.
In Jenin, a Palestinian child was reportedly wounded by live ammunition during an Israeli military incursion into Qabatiya, south of the city. Local sources stated that the child sustained a leg injury and was transported to a hospital. The injury is described as minor. The sources added that Israeli forces deployed throughout the town, particularly in the al-Qahawi area, and fired live ammunition at residents.
Another Palestinian child was also reportedly wounded by live fire during an Israeli army raid on the Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces raided homes and businesses before clashes erupted, during which soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed that the injured child was transferred to a hospital, noting that the Israeli incursion lasted approximately two hours.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces stopped a vehicle and detained four Palestinian passengers near Tuqu’, southeast of the city. A 13-year-old child was also arrested during a raid in Hussan, west of Bethlehem. Forces sealed the eastern entrance of the village, erected a military checkpoint, and forced shop owners to close their businesses.
In a joint statement, the Israeli military and police announced a “large-scale” operation in Jenin, resulting in the arrest of several “suspects.”
