President Tebboune Inspects Defense Ministry Showcase at Algiers Expo

Algiers, December 18, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today visited the Ministry of National Defense pavilion at the opening of the 33rd Algerian Production Fair in Algiers.

The President received detailed briefings on the latest advancements in Algeria’s military industries, with a particular focus on the development and production of combat vehicles, weapons systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

President Tebboune toured the stand of the Mechanical Constructions Establishment of Khenchela, a key facility specializing in the manufacture of light weaponry. He examined the latest products, including the semi-automatic pump-action shotgun, a flagship product of the Algerian military industry.

The President also stopped at the pavilion of the Central Supply Base of the First Military Region, where he was presented with information regarding battery production lines and cutting-edge technologies in the field of energy.

Furthermore, President Tebboune inspected the Automotive Equipment Renovation Establishment within the Ministry of National Defense section. He received explanations regarding the refrigerated units produced by the facility, noting their significant development in meeting the requirements of army units and contributing to self-sufficiency.

Beyond the defense sector, the President visited the pharmaceutical industry sector pavilion, specifically focusing on the LDM pharmaceutical manufacturing complex.

During this visit, President Tebboune was briefed on the new hormone drug manufacturing plant, a joint Algerian-German venture. This facility is reportedly the fifth of its kind globally, producing medication for thyroid disorders.

This visit highlights the Algerian government’s commitment to bolstering domestic production across various sectors, including defense and pharmaceuticals.
