Strengthening Algerian-Chinese Youth Relations: A Step Towards Future Collaborations

Algeria and China have taken significant steps to bolster their bilateral relations, particularly in the youth sector. Members of the National Office of the Supreme Council for Youth in Algeria welcomed a delegation from the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China this Saturday. The meeting was a pivotal moment to discuss ways to enhance the bilateral relations concerning youth.

Abdel Halim Benbadis, the Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth responsible for youth empowerment issues, highlighted that the meeting was an opportunity to explore “ways to strengthen and consolidate relations between the Supreme Council for Youth and the Communist Party of China in the youth sector.”

Benbadis further noted that the Chinese delegation was briefed on Algeria’s experience in establishing the Supreme Council for Youth as an advisory body. They were also informed about its functions and future prospects.

The speaker praised the exceptional relations between Algeria and China, which he referred to as “strategic cooperation.”

On his part, the head of the Chinese delegation, Yu Wei, acknowledged the importance of the Supreme Council for Youth in shaping this segment of society and understanding its concerns. He expressed his readiness to “enhance communication with the Council and deepen youth exchanges in a way that positively reflects on the relations between the two countries.”

Yu also mentioned the “historical relations” between Algeria and China, which this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to foster a relationship that not only respects their historical ties but also looks forward to nurturing a new generation that will carry forward the legacy of Algerian-Chinese strategic cooperation. As Algeria and China continue to celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations, the focus on youth initiatives promises a future of enriched cultural exchange and mutual development.
