Weather Alert: Thunderstorms Forecast Across Algeria Monday

Algiers – Algeria’s meteorological services have issued a level-one weather alert, warning of widespread thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected to begin tomorrow, Monday. The alert encompasses a significant portion of the country, impacting numerous wilayas.

According to the weather advisory, the affected regions include coastal, eastern, central, and western wilayas, as well as a considerable number of wilayas in the High Plateaus and the South.

Specifically, the following wilayas are anticipated to experience adverse weather conditions: El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdes, Algiers, Tipaza, Chlef, Mostaganem, Oran, Ain Temouchent, Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Relizane, Ain Defla, Blida, Medea, and Tissemsilt.

The thunderstorms are also predicted to extend into inland and eastern wilayas, including Tiaret, Saida, Naama, El Bayadh, Souk Ahras, Guelma, Constantine, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bouira, Tebessa, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, and Batna.

In the South and High Plateaus, the weather disturbances are expected to affect Biskra, Ouled Djellal, El M’Ghair, M’Sila, Djelfa, El Oued, Touggourt, Laghouat, and Ghardaia.

Citizens are urged to exercise caution, particularly those using roadways. The meteorological services advise the public to stay informed by monitoring weather forecasts and official warnings for any updates. Be prepared for potential disruptions due to the anticipated severe weather.
