Snowfall Expected Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, Algeria – Several Algerian provinces are bracing for snowfall starting Monday, prompting the National Meteorological Office to issue an orange alert. The affected regions are primarily those with altitudes exceeding 1100 meters.

The initial wave of snowfall is expected to impact the provinces of Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Tiaret, Naama, El Bayadh, and Laghouat. Accumulation is forecast to range between 5 and 10 centimeters, beginning at 3:00 AM and lasting until midday on Monday.

Simultaneously, snowfall is anticipated in Djelfa, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Tizi Ouzou, and Bouira. This period of snowfall is predicted to begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 6:00 PM, with similar accumulations of 5 to 10 centimeters.

Later on Monday, starting at 12:00 PM and extending until 1:00 AM on Tuesday, the provinces of Bejaia, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Batna, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, and Tebessa are also expected to experience snowfall. The anticipated accumulation remains consistent at 5 to 10 centimeters.
