National Postal Union Established in Setif Under Minister’s Auspices

Setif, Algeria – The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications oversaw the establishment of the National Union of Algeria Post during a ceremony held today in Setif. The inaugural conference was attended by the Governor of Setif, Mustapha Limani, and the Secretary-General of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), Amar Tagjout.

Also present were the Secretary-General of the National Federation of Postal and Telecommunications Workers, Mohamed Bourouba, the Director-General of Algeria Post, Chiraz Bachiri, alongside sector executives and worker representatives.

According to a statement released by the Ministry, the Minister emphasized that this initiative aligns with the sector’s commitment to promoting social dialogue and strengthening partnerships with labor unions. He stated that the renewal of union branches and the organization of the founding conference for the National Union of Algeria Post represent a crucial step towards improving the social climate within the postal institution.

The Minister further clarified that the union is considered a pivotal partner in fostering a culture of dialogue, which he views as the most effective mechanism for addressing the professional and social concerns of workers and improving working conditions. This, in turn, is expected to positively impact the institution’s productivity and the quality of services provided to citizens.

The establishment of this national union marks a significant development for Algeria Post and its workforce, signaling a renewed focus on collaboration and communication between management and employees.
