DZWatch Exclusive: The National Meteorological Office has issued a special weather alert, forecasting snowfall across several highland regions of Algeria starting this Monday. The alert indicates that areas exceeding 1100 meters in altitude are likely to experience snowfall.
The affected provinces, according to the National Meteorological Office, include a significant swathe of the country. Specifically, snowfall is anticipated in: Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Tiaret, Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Djelfa, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Medea, Blida, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Jijel, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Batna, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, and Tebessa.
Accumulation levels are expected to range between 5 and 10 centimeters in these regions. The weather alert is valid for the entirety of Monday and is expected to extend into Tuesday for some of the listed provinces.
