Blida, Algeria – A 190-bed hospital project in Blida is nearing completion, marking a significant step forward in bolstering the region’s healthcare infrastructure. The project, overseen by SPA INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL COMPLIANCE-IMEDIC (IMEDIC), has received a boost through an extension to its investment agreement.
The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) signed an addendum to the investment agreement, granting a non-renewable 18-month extension for the project’s completion. The signing ceremony took place at the AAPI headquarters, with Director-General Omar Rekkache and IMEDIC Chairman Farid Chaoui in attendance. Boualem Cherchali, Director of Local Health Structures at the Ministry of Health, was also present.
Registered in 2018, the hospital project aligns with national efforts to strengthen and expand healthcare infrastructure. Located in the municipality of Beni Mered, the multi-specialty hospital will significantly increase bed capacity in the Blida region.
The hospital is considered a vital project, expected to enhance healthcare services and contribute to the local economy. Furthermore, the facility is projected to create approximately 600 direct jobs, providing a substantial economic stimulus to the community.
The completion of this hospital will be a major achievement for Blida, improving access to quality healthcare for residents and solidifying the region’s position as a hub for medical services.
