DZWatch Exclusive: A new digital service will soon allow economic operators in Algeria to pay trade register stamp duties online, marking a significant step towards modernizing public administration and streamlining bureaucratic processes. This initiative is the result of a collaborative agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Internal Trade and Regulation of the National Market.
The General Directorate of Taxes announced the partnership, highlighting that the digital service aims to improve the quality of services offered to citizens and economic stakeholders alike. By reducing processing times and minimizing the need for physical travel and administrative hurdles, the service aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation policy.
Trade register holders will be able to securely and conveniently settle stamp duty payments through a dedicated online platform. This advancement is expected to enhance transparency and accelerate the processing of applications related to the creation and updating of trade registers.
The General Directorate of Taxes emphasized that the project demonstrates strong inter-ministerial coordination and responds to the demands of the digital age. It is anticipated to foster a more favorable business environment and encourage investment, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
DZWatch understands that this digital service is also projected to alleviate pressure on administrative structures, improve tax collection efficiency, and provide a smoother user experience. This aligns with the national drive towards a modern and effective e-administration.
