Palestinian Killed, Others Wounded in Jabalia; Buildings Demolished in Khan Yunis

A Palestinian man was killed and several others wounded on Wednesday by Israeli forces fire outside of established zones in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip. Additionally, Israeli forces demolished buildings in Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the territory.

According to sources at Al-Shifa Hospital, one Palestinian was pronounced dead, and six others sustained injuries following gunfire from Israeli forces operating outside their designated areas in Jabalia. The hospital confirmed receiving the body of the deceased and treating five individuals with moderate injuries resulting from the same incident.

Reports indicate the deceased was targeted by sniper fire near Al-Jurn roundabout, an area outside of the Israeli military’s established presence in the Jabalia refugee camp.

Furthermore, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that a young girl was wounded by Israeli fire outside of operational zones in the Maghazi camp, central Gaza Strip.

WAFA news agency stated that Israeli forces opened fire on civilians near the Maghazi camp, resulting in the girl’s injury. She was subsequently transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital for medical treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported low-altitude flights by Israeli aircraft over Rafah, coinciding with intense gunfire from helicopters.

Artillery shelling by Israeli forces targeted areas east of Khan Yunis, where buildings were also demolished.

The humanitarian crisis continues to escalate, with families scattered across the Gaza Strip. Despite geographical proximity, reunions are proving difficult due to road closures and transportation challenges.

The sharp drop in temperatures is exacerbating the suffering of residents, especially in light of restrictions imposed by Israeli forces on the entry of aid and goods.

This situation unfolds amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties, the majority of whom are women and children, according to Palestinian sources. DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reports that ongoing violations of the ceasefire have led to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians since its implementation in October.
