Weather Alert: Snow and Heavy Rain Expected Across Several States

DZWatch News – December 25, 2025 – Several Algerian states are bracing for adverse weather conditions as the National Meteorological Office issued special weather alerts today. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about the evolving situation.

A yellow-level alert for snowfall has been issued for the following states: Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Bejaia, Setif, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and Batna. Snowfall is expected to begin at 9:00 PM today, Thursday, and continue until 6:00 AM tomorrow, Friday. Residents in these areas should prepare for potential disruptions to travel and daily activities.

Separate alerts warn of heavy rainfall in Ain Temouchent and Oran. Rainfall amounts are predicted to range between 20 and 40 millimeters, with the alert remaining in effect until 3:00 PM today, Thursday.

Furthermore, a widespread yellow-level alert for thunderstorms is in place from 6:00 AM today, Thursday, until 6:00 AM tomorrow, Friday. The affected states include: Algiers, Sidi Bel Abbes, Souk Ahras, Tipaza, El Oued, Tissemsilt, Laghouat, Relizane, Bejaia, Ghardaia, M’Sila, Tiaret, Mila, Oum El Bouaghi, Tebessa, Guelma, Tizi Ouzou, Chlef, Batna, Mostaganem, Annaba, Setif, Djelfa, Tlemcen, Constantine, Skikda, Jijel, Khenchela, Medea, Biskra, El Tarf, Naama, Boumerdes, Bouira, Mascara, Blida, and Bechar.
