DZWatch sources report a significant escalation of conflict in the Gaza Strip. An Israeli drone strike in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, resulted in the death of one Palestinian and injuries to others. The incident occurred amidst reports of extensive demolition operations carried out by the Israeli military east of Khan Yunis, following artillery shelling in the area.
Medical emergency services confirmed that several individuals sustained injuries from Israeli fire in and around Jabalia and Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. Witnesses described a large-scale demolition operation and a series of airstrikes east of Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes conducted multiple raids within Rafah, also in the south. Eastern parts of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza were subjected to heavy artillery fire and intense gunfire from Israeli military vehicles.
In central Gaza, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that a young girl was wounded by Israeli fire outside of designated operational areas in the Al-Maghazi camp. The ongoing violations have reportedly resulted in hundreds of Palestinian casualties.
In a separate incident, Civil Defense teams in Gaza recovered the remains of 14 individuals from under the rubble of a house destroyed by Israeli shelling in the Al-Satar Al-Gharbi area, northwest of Khan Yunis. The bodies were transferred to relevant authorities for identification.
Adding to the humanitarian crisis, Al-Awda Hospital in central Gaza announced it would cease providing medical services today due to a severe fuel shortage. Hospital Director Dr. Raafat Al-Majdalawi warned of catastrophic consequences if fuel and medical supplies are not permitted to enter the Strip. He stated the hospital is attempting to manage existing cases but faces dire circumstances without fuel replenishment. This fuel shortage comes amid reports of continued restrictions on the entry of fuel and essential medical supplies into Gaza.
