Snowfall Expected Across Central and Eastern Algeria

Algiers, Algeria – Several provinces in central and eastern Algeria are bracing for snowfall beginning today, Thursday, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the National Meteorology Office.

The bulletin, categorized as an “orange” level of alert, covers the provinces of Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Bordj Bou Arreridj, and M’Sila. The alert is in effect from 9:00 PM today, Thursday, until noon (12:00 PM) tomorrow, Friday.

Snow accumulation is expected to range between 10 and 15 centimeters in areas above 1200 meters in altitude. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions.

The weather advisory also extends to the provinces of Setif, Batna, and Khenchela, which are forecast to experience snowfall tomorrow, Friday, from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Similar snow depths of 10 to 15 centimeters are anticipated in mountainous areas exceeding 1200 meters.
