Algiers, December 25, 2025 – The University of Algiers 3 has finalized the establishment of new economic branches with a total initial capital exceeding 246 million Algerian dinars, DZWatch has learned. This move signals a strategic shift towards enhanced investment, innovation, and a stronger connection between academic training and the economic landscape.
According to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the total initial capital for these economic ventures amounts to 246.20 million DZD. This capital is distributed across three public economic institutions structured as joint-stock companies, granting them greater operational flexibility and the capacity to generate added value.
Specifically, the University of Algiers 3 Financial Investment Company has been established with a capital of 188.8 million DZD. This entity will serve as an investment arm, supporting economic projects and bolstering the university’s financial resources.
Furthermore, the University of Algiers 3 Consulting, Research, and Development Office has been created with a social capital of 20 million DZD. This office will provide expertise, scientific studies, and consultancy services to economic institutions and public bodies.
The initiative also includes the establishment of the Academy of Excellence in Media and Digital Training at the University of Algiers 3. With a social capital of 20 million DZD, the academy aims to enhance training skills in media and digitization, keeping pace with rapid technological advancements.
These developments align with the national strategy to transform Algerian universities into centers for knowledge and wealth creation. The goal is for universities to actively contribute to economic and social development by leveraging scientific research and fostering entrepreneurship within the academic community. This initiative marks a significant step towards a more economically engaged and innovative university system in Algeria.
