The Secretary-General congratulated Japan on the resounding success of the International Expo 2025 in Osaka. He noted Algeria’s impressive participation and its Silver Medal win for best pavilion design among participating nations.

Both parties acknowledged the favorable current climate as a catalyst for revitalizing bilateral relations, particularly in the political and economic spheres. They committed to ensuring regular and periodic bilateral consultations, following the shared commitments made during the successful first session of the Algerian-Japanese Joint Governmental Economic Committee in Algiers this past May.

The statement further indicated that both sides agreed to hold the sixth session of political consultations concurrently with the second meeting of the Algerian-Japanese Joint Governmental Economic Committee in Tokyo during the first half of 2026.

Following the working session, the Japanese Vice-Minister met with the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and subsequently with the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Small Enterprises, Noureddine Ouahidi. These meetings underscore the determination of Algeria and Japan to diversify and enhance their exchanges to the desired level, especially in the fields of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
