Massive Drug Bust: Nearly One Million Pills Seized in Illizi

Illizi, Algeria – Authorities in Illizi have seized a massive quantity of psychotropic pills, thwarting a major drug smuggling operation. Agents from the Regional Specialized Unit for Combating Smuggling and Drugs, under the Regional Directorate of Customs in Illizi, in coordination with the People’s National Army, confiscated 931,985 units of controlled substances.

The Customs services indicated that the operation was successful due to the vigilance of its agents and joint field work. The seized quantity was discovered hidden amongst the sand dunes, prepared for smuggling in an attempt to evade detection.
