Algiers, Algeria – On behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, conveyed Algeria’s condolences to Libya following the tragic death of Libyan Chief of Staff, General Mohammad Ali Ahmad al-Haddad.
General al-Haddad and his accompanying delegation perished in a plane crash. The incident has prompted a wave of grief and solidarity across the region.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, General Chengriha visited the Libyan Embassy in Algiers on Thursday evening to express the condolences of the Algerian government and people. He also signed the book of condolences opened at the embassy.
“In the name of Algeria, its government, and its people, and under the mandate of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” General Chengriha conveyed sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the families of the victims and to the entire Libyan people.
