The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has moved swiftly to protect the national team from what it describes as deliberate attempts at disruption. These efforts began upon the team’s arrival at their designated residence.
The initial incident involved the circulation of images alleging that the Algerian delegation intentionally covered a portrait of King Mohammed VI with a curtain. Sources within the FAF have categorically denied these claims.
The Federation has instructed players to refrain from responding to provocations and has implemented strict organizational protocols, including restricting unauthorized access to the team. This measure aims to ensure a calm and focused environment ahead of crucial matches.
Aouar Injury Sparks Rumors:
Adding to the attempts to destabilize the team, reports surfaced suggesting that Houssem Aouar refused to be a substitute and threatened to boycott the tournament. However, officials from Al-Ittihad swiftly refuted these claims, confirming that Aouar is currently sidelined due to an injury, preventing him from being fully fit.
This clarification has put an end to malicious interpretations and exposed further attempts to sow discord within the Algerian camp. The coaching staff remains focused on the technical and physical aspects of preparation, disregarding external distractions.
Efforts to Disrupt Team Harmony:
The incident involving Baghdad Bounedjah was also subject to exaggerated reporting, with some parties attempting to exploit it to undermine the stability of the Algerian squad. The FAF addressed the matter internally, emphasizing that the issue has been resolved and does not warrant the sensationalism it has received.
Team officials have asserted that the team’s cohesion is at its best, with players united behind a common goal. The Federation views these disruptive actions as part of a psychological warfare campaign aimed at affecting the team’s concentration but remains prepared and organized to counter these tactics.
Fears of an Algerian Victory:
Observers suggest that the surge in disinformation reflects growing anxiety within certain Moroccan circles regarding the possibility of the Algerian national team reaching the final and winning the title. Algeria boasts a strong footballing history and a competitive spirit that consistently positions them as contenders in major tournaments. This apprehension is manifested in external attempts to disrupt the team’s progress.
