Beit She’an, Occupied Territories – Two Israelis have been killed and six others injured in a combined vehicular and stabbing attack in the Beit She’an area of northern Israel, also known as Beisan. The incident occurred earlier today and is currently under investigation by Israeli authorities.
Initial reports indicate that the assailant, identified as a resident of the West Bank, carried out the attack in multiple locations within the Beit She’an region. Emergency services confirmed that one woman was killed in a stabbing, while another individual died after being struck by a vehicle. Six other people sustained injuries of varying severity and are receiving medical treatment.
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailant first used a vehicle to strike a pedestrian before exiting the vehicle and stabbing a woman. Israeli police responded to the scene, and the attacker was reportedly shot and apprehended. The suspect is currently in custody and receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the arrest.
While the investigation is ongoing, Israeli media reports suggest the assailant hails from Qabatiya, near Jenin in the occupied West Bank. Unconfirmed reports cite security sources claiming the attacker has ties to the Islamic Jihad movement, and had infiltrated Israel several days prior to carrying out the attack.
