Algeria Weather Alert: Rain, Snow, and Cold Snap Forecasted

Algiers, December 27, 2025 – Algeria is bracing for a period of unsettled weather, with rainfall and snow expected in several regions, according to the National Meteorological Office.

A weather bulletin issued today forecasts significant weather variations across the country for tomorrow, Sunday. The western provinces are expected to experience rain, while snowfall is anticipated in the western highlands above 1200 meters.

The central and eastern regions of northern Algeria will generally enjoy sunny and stable weather. However, the western regions will see a mix of sunshine and rain, with snow falling on higher ground. The provinces likely to be affected by rainfall include Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, El Bayadh, Naama, and Bechar. Travelers, especially motorists, are advised to exercise caution.

Coastal temperatures are expected to range between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius, while inland areas will see temperatures between 6 and 17 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds may reach up to 30 km/h.

A cold snap warning has been issued for the provinces of Naama, El Bayadh, Laghouat, Batna, Khenchela, and Tebessa. Residents in these areas should prepare for significantly colder temperatures, particularly in the mornings and evenings.

In southern Algeria, the weather will range from sunny to partly cloudy, with possible snowfall on the peaks of Mount Aantar. Temperatures in the south will vary between 13 and 30 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds potentially reaching 40 km/h.
