RND Secretary-General: Criminalizing Colonialism a Sovereign Message

Khenchela, Algeria – The Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND) party has affirmed that the law criminalizing colonialism is a clear message of sovereignty, rejecting any external impositions and underscoring Algeria’s right to manage its affairs with complete autonomy.

Speaking at a public gathering held today in the province of Khenchela, the Secretary-General emphasized the rejection of neocolonial narratives, directly addressing certain French factions still clinging to outdated rhetoric of dominance. He stressed the importance of respecting Algeria’s sovereignty and independence in all international relations.

“This law sends an unequivocal signal,” stated the Secretary-General. “Algeria will not tolerate any form of interference in its internal affairs. We are a free and independent nation, and we will determine our own path forward.”

Furthermore, the Secretary-General highlighted the importance of fostering mutual respect between the Algerian and French people, while acknowledging the painful legacy of the past. He advocated for a relationship built on equality and understanding, acknowledging the complexities of the historical context.

In a separate remark, the Secretary-General addressed the forthcoming municipal law, asserting that it will empower mayors to become true leaders within their respective cities, wielding significant authority within their jurisdictions. This, he explained, will bolster local governance and enhance accountability and effectiveness in municipal administration. The new law aims to decentralize power and bring government closer to the citizens.

The RND continues to advocate for policies that strengthen Algeria’s sovereignty and promote the well-being of its citizens. The party believes that a strong and independent Algeria is essential for regional stability and prosperity.
