Algeria’s Anti-Corruption Authority Refers 15 Cases to Justice

Algiers – The High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption has referred 15 corruption cases to the relevant regional public prosecutors. In addition, two files have been sent to the Court of Accounts following a review of 18 cases by the Authority.

The announcement was made during the Authority’s fourth ordinary session, chaired by Ms. Salima Messarati, and attended by council members. During the meeting, the council approved the Authority’s activity report for the year 2025, according to an official statement.

The annual meeting also saw the approval of the High Authority’s work plan for 2026, along with the Authority’s draft budget for the upcoming year. Discussions also took place regarding the implementation and expenditure of the annual budget for 2025.

International Cooperation Boost

At the conclusion of the session, and within the framework of strengthening efforts to prevent and combat corruption, as well as developing cooperation with international bodies and organizations, collaborative projects and agreements with a number of counterpart agencies in friendly countries were examined.

The same source explained that these projects were addressed during the 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties, held in Doha, Qatar, in the context of supporting international coordination and exchanging experiences in the field of combating corruption and promoting transparency.
