Algiers, December 29, 2025 – Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, participated today in a ministerial meeting of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (PSC). The meeting, held via videoconference, focused on the escalating crisis in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and explored avenues for the African Union to bolster efforts towards a peaceful resolution.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions centered on the urgent need to stabilize the region and facilitate dialogue between conflicting parties. Minister Attaf, in his address to the council, emphasized three immediate priorities for the African Union’s engagement.
