Mohamed Mehdi Bouraiou Appointed Secretary-General of Algeria Post Union

Algiers, December 30, 2025 – Algeria Post has officially appointed Mohamed Mehdi Bouraiou as the Secretary-General of the institution’s union. The installation ceremony took place on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the headquarters of Algeria Post’s General Directorate.

The Director-General of Algeria Post, Bechiri, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by Mohamed Bourouba, the Secretary-General of the National Federation of Postal, Telecommunications, and ICT Workers, along with several of the institution’s executives, workers, and members of the national union bureau. The atmosphere was described as one of responsibility and consensus.

In her address, the Director-General emphasized that this appointment is part of Algeria Post’s efforts to promote social partnership and establish a culture of serious and responsible dialogue within the institution. She stated that union work is a fundamental pillar for supporting the reform and modernization process, as well as for conveying the concerns and legitimate aspirations of workers objectively and responsibly.

She stressed that constructive social dialogue remains a strategic option for achieving a balance between improving working conditions, increasing the institution’s productivity, and ensuring the continuity and quality of public service provided to citizens. She affirmed that the interests of workers, serving citizens, and the public good remain constants that the institution will not deviate from.

Furthermore, she highlighted that Algeria Post, as a public utility of strategic importance, derives its legitimacy from its commitment to serving the nation and its citizens with responsibility and integrity, noting that every union or administrative effort should contribute to this collective framework.

The newly appointed Secretary-General of the Algeria Post union expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him, affirming his determination to lead union work based on transparency, proximity to workers, and the responsible defense of their rights, in line with the requirements of the institution and the challenges of public service. He pledged to work collaboratively with management to address employee concerns and improve service delivery.
