Nablus, West Bank – A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces near Nablus on Tuesday evening, amidst a series of raids and clashes across the occupied West Bank. According to reports, Israeli soldiers opened fire on a vehicle near the towns of Ourif and Einabus, south of Nablus, resulting in the death.
The Palestinian Civil Affairs Committee identified the deceased as 20-year-old Qais Sami Jaser Allan. His body is currently being processed following the shooting.
Earlier in the day, four other Palestinians were reportedly injured by Israeli gunfire in the same area, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. These incidents occurred as Israeli forces intensified their operations throughout the West Bank.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian home in the town of Aboud, northwest of Ramallah, was set ablaze after being struck by an incendiary device allegedly launched by Israeli soldiers. Witnesses reported that Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters into the home, causing a fire and resulting in several residents suffering from smoke inhalation.
DZWatch has learned that Israeli forces also conducted raids in the city of Tubas and the town of Aqaba, located in the northern West Bank. Additionally, the village of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah, witnessed violent clashes between local youths and Israeli soldiers following a military incursion. Reports indicate that the entrance to the village of Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah, was also closed by Israeli forces.
Since October 7, 2023, when the conflict in Gaza escalated, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has seen a surge in violence. At least 1,103 Palestinians have been killed and approximately 11,000 injured. Over 21,000 Palestinians have been arrested during this period.
