Israeli Raids in Jenin, Home Demolitions in Nur Shams

Israeli forces injured multiple Palestinians and made numerous arrests in the West Bank on Wednesday, while also commencing the demolition of homes in the Nur Shams refugee camp. The incidents mark a continuation of near-daily military operations in Palestinian towns and cities.

In Jenin, specifically the town of Jaba’ in the southern part of the region, Israeli troops injured four Palestinians and detained 28 others during a raid. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams treated four individuals for injuries sustained from severe beatings. The injured were subsequently transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.

Eyewitnesses stated that the Israeli military arrested 28 residents of Jaba’ during a large-scale operation involving the storming of numerous homes. The raids included field interrogations conducted inside residences. According to reports, Israeli soldiers ransacked homes, deliberately causing extensive damage amidst a heavy deployment of troops throughout various neighborhoods of Jaba’.

Tensions remain high as the military operation continues, with concerns growing about further arrests and violations against Palestinian civilians. In a separate incident, the Red Crescent reported that two Palestinians, including a child, were injured by Israeli gunfire in the town of Al- الظاهرية in Hebron.

In Nablus, Israeli forces raided the home of Palestinian prisoner Muayad Al-Sheikh, confiscating some of his belongings. Additionally, three young men were arrested in the town of Kafr Al-Labad, east of Tulkarm, and two men were arrested in Qalqilya.

Simultaneously, reports indicate that Israeli bulldozers have begun demolishing homes in the Nur Shams refugee camp, located east of Tulkarm in the West Bank. Abdullah Kamil, the Governor of Tulkarm, stated that Israeli forces initiated the demolition of 25 homes within the camp, describing the action as a dangerous escalation targeting the Palestinian presence in the camps and constituting collective punishment against civilians.

Kamil added that the demolitions are part of a systematic policy aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians and altering the demographic reality in the camps. He emphasized that affected families face the risk of displacement amidst ongoing targeting and destruction of infrastructure and homes, leading to a worsening humanitarian crisis for residents.

The Governor renewed his call for international intervention.
