National Construction Movement Praises President Tebboune’s Address

The National Construction Movement has closely followed President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s address to Parliament at the Palace of Nations, broadcast on Algerian television yesterday evening. The Movement views the address as a significant opportunity to clarify the state’s position and review national achievements and challenges.

The Movement stated that the address comes at a sensitive time when Algeria faces systematic campaigns of disinformation and attempts to tarnish its image and weaken its institutions. It affirmed that President Tebboune successfully refuted these claims and reiterated the state’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations to citizens.

The Movement welcomed the consolidation of the tradition of direct communication with the people. It commended the address’s commitment to political ethics, adherence to the principles of the November 1st Declaration, and reaffirmation of Algeria’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian issue. The Movement also welcomed the President’s repeated assurances of his commitment to national dialogue with political parties and its constructive outcomes. It considered this a clear response to those who question the role of political parties and their ability to exercise their legal functions.

The Movement valued the commitment to protecting the social nature of the state as a fundamental pillar, with a focus on protecting the middle class through housing support strategies and ensuring social cohesion. It emphasized the importance of a comprehensive development vision that pays attention to health, education, water, and food security.

The Movement supported the forward-looking vision for demographic growth and ensuring the state’s institutions are ready to accommodate a population of 50 million in the future, through diversifying income sources and securing the national economy. It also affirmed its support for the new economic pact focused on state sovereignty, attracting investments, and achieving sustainable and balanced development across the country.

The Movement praised the President’s honesty in presenting certain issues from the past era and challenges in food security, and his call for finding sustainable solutions through innovation and ethical business initiatives. It also considered the positions of Algerian diplomacy, as emphasized by the President, as a model of balance between national interests, respect for international law, and good neighborliness, while highlighting the strong ties with sister countries, particularly Tunisia.

In conclusion, the National Construction Movement renewed its support and pride in Algeria’s continued steadfastness on its historical positions on just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian issue and the Sahrawi issue, calling on all elites and parties to strengthen national cohesion and unity.
