Chief of Staff Sends New Year’s Greetings to Algerian Army

Algiers – General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), has extended his warmest wishes to all personnel on the occasion of the New Year 2026.

In his message, the General conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to officers, non-commissioned officers, rank and file soldiers, and civilian employees serving across the nation. He expressed his sincere hope that the new year would bring them good health, prosperity, and success in their noble missions to serve the country and its people.

“As we welcome the New Year 2026, I extend my sincerest greetings and best wishes to all members of the People’s National Army, the faithful successor to the National Liberation Army,” General Chengriha stated. “I pray to the Almighty to grant you all good health and well-being, and to bring you, your families, and loved ones a year filled with goodness, blessings, and further success in your noble tasks, serving our beloved nation and its proud people.”

The Chief of Staff also emphasized the critical role played by the ANP in safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining security throughout the country. He underscored the importance of continuous training and preparedness to effectively address any potential threats and adapt to evolving regional and international challenges.

General Chengriha further urged the armed forces to intensify efforts in combating remaining terrorist groups, utilizing innovative strategies and intelligence to eradicate this scourge from Algerian soil. He also stressed the need to thwart attempts by organized crime to flood the country with drugs and undermine national unity, territorial integrity, and stability.

He concluded his message by expressing his confidence in the ANP’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its duties and upholding the trust placed in them by the Algerian people. He also honored the sacrifices of their predecessors, the heroes of the liberation war, and their comrades in arms.
