Hajj 2026: Health Declaration Mandatory for Pilgrims

Algiers, Algeria – The National Office of Hajj and Umrah has announced that all successful applicants for the 2026 Hajj season (1447 AH) must declare their health status to the designated medical committee. This declaration is a mandatory requirement to ensure the well-being of pilgrims and compliance with health regulations set by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia for the upcoming season.

According to the official statement, the health declaration aims to guarantee that pilgrims are free from specific medical conditions that could pose a risk during the pilgrimage. The National Office of Hajj and Umrah emphasized the importance of undergoing a medical examination to confirm the absence of the following conditions:

These include kidney failure requiring dialysis, advanced heart failure, chronic lung diseases requiring oxygen, advanced liver cirrhosis, severe neurological or psychiatric disorders, advanced dementia, pregnancy in the last trimester or high-risk pregnancies, active infectious diseases, and active cancer or conditions undergoing aggressive treatments.

Pilgrims are obligated to truthfully declare any of these conditions. Failure to disclose relevant medical information is considered a personal responsibility and may result in the individual being barred from performing the Hajj pilgrimage. The National Office of Hajj and Umrah reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy pilgrimage experience for all Algerian citizens participating in the 2026 Hajj.

The office urges all prospective pilgrims to adhere to these guidelines and cooperate fully with the medical authorities to facilitate a smooth and secure Hajj journey.
