Ministry of Education Announces Schedule for Union Members’ Professional Status

The Ministry of National Education has announced a schedule for regularizing the professional status of accredited trade union members. This initiative follows the legal deadline stipulated in Article 119 of Law No. 23-02, dated April 25, 2023, concerning the exercise of trade union rights.

According to a ministry statement, any trade union organization that did not submit its request within the specified timeframe can now submit the nominal lists of concerned individuals. These lists will be reviewed and approved by the ministry, in accordance with Articles 104 to 107 of the same law.

The statement further indicated that the individuals concerned are required to return to their original positions starting Sunday, January 4, 2026, pending the review of the lists. This review will be conducted in coordination between the Ministry of National Education and the relevant trade union organizations.

The schedule announced by the ministry includes the submission of nominal lists on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 6 and 7, 2026, with the deadline for their review set for Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

This measure aims to enhance transparency and ensure the proper exercise of trade union rights, ultimately contributing to the improvement of the professional status of employees in the education sector. The ministry emphasized its commitment to facilitating a fair and equitable process for all involved.
