Algiers, Algeria – A wave of cold weather and strong winds is expected to impact several provinces across Algeria, according to a special weather alert issued by the National Meteorological Office. The alert, categorized as Level 1 (Yellow) on the vigilance map, warns residents to prepare for potentially adverse conditions.
The provinces most likely to be affected by the cold snap include Tébessa, Khenchela, and Batna. The warning is in effect from 6:00 AM today, Thursday, until 6:00 AM tomorrow, Friday. A noticeable drop in temperatures is anticipated, particularly during the night and early morning hours. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe.
In a separate alert, the National Meteorological Office cautions against strong winds expected to sweep through the provinces of Saïda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Tlemcen, El Bayadh, and Naâma. These strong winds are forecast to begin at 12:00 PM tomorrow, Friday, and are expected to continue until 6:00 AM on Saturday.
