Maduro Arrested: US Military Operation in Venezuela Claims Capture

Caracas, Venezuela – The fate of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has become the subject of intense speculation following an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that a large-scale American military operation within Venezuela has resulted in the apprehension of Maduro and his wife. They have reportedly been flown out of the country.

According to the presidential statement, the operation was conducted in coordination between U.S. military forces and law enforcement agencies as part of a raid targeting Caracas earlier today. The final destination of Maduro and his wife remains undisclosed, with further details expected during a press conference to be held by President Trump later today.

President Trump used the term “flown” to indicate the removal of Maduro and his wife from Venezuela by air, without revealing their ultimate destination. He stated that legal proceedings would be carried out according to the discretion of the U.S. administration.

While Trump did not explicitly state that Maduro and his wife were being taken to the United States, speculation suggests a multi-stage transfer process. This could involve initial transport to a U.S. forward operating base in the Caribbean, or potentially to U.S. warships stationed in the region, before eventual transfer to American soil.

This scenario is supported by the recent deployment of additional military equipment by Washington to the Caribbean theater, including Osprey aircraft typically used for special forces transport. Additionally, reports indicate low-altitude flights of U.S. helicopters and aircraft during the operation within Venezuela.

It is understood from Trump’s address that the U.S. administration aims to portray the operation as both a military success and an enforcement of legal procedures, citing an outstanding arrest warrant issued by a New York court against Maduro on charges related to drug trafficking.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Delta Force special operations unit was responsible for the arrest, supported by Osprey aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing, to execute a rapid and surprise assault within the capital. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
