Algeria Post Clarifies Prohibited Items for Postal Parcels

Algiers – Algeria Post has announced a series of restrictions on items that are prohibited from being sent through its postal network. This measure aims to reinforce safety protocols, protect postal workers, ensure the security of mail, and comply with applicable national and international laws.

Specifically, Algeria Post emphasized that parcels posing a risk to postal employees or those likely to soil or damage other mail are strictly forbidden. This includes explosive or flammable items, which represent a direct threat to public safety and security.

The postal service also prohibits the sending of parcels containing materials that are considered indecent or morally objectionable. Furthermore, items subject to customs duties and destined for countries that do not permit such shipments, regardless of their form, are also banned.

Similarly, Algeria Post prohibits sending Algerian or foreign currency through the mail. The inclusion of banknotes or bank securities within ordinary parcels addressed to the bearer is also forbidden, in order to avoid potential legal or security risks.

These measures are part of Algeria Post’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of postal services and ensuring that parcels and mail arrive in optimal condition. Algeria Post urges customers to adhere to established guidelines and to contact postal services for clarification before sending any parcel. By following these guidelines, customers can help ensure the smooth and safe operation of the postal system.
