The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has refuted false statements circulating on social media, falsely attributed to the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youcef Belmahdi, concerning the consumption of meat during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement released on Monday, the Ministry clarified that a social media page had published fabricated statements, impersonating a national media outlet. The Ministry firmly asserted that Minister Belmahdi had not made any such pronouncements.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments emphasized that the circulating post is completely unfounded and lacks any basis in reality. It urged citizens and followers to exercise caution and refrain from being misled by false information.
Furthermore, the Ministry reiterated that official statements from the Minister, as well as Ministry announcements and news, are exclusively published on the Ministry’s official website and its verified social media pages. This ensures accurate and reliable information reaches the public.
The Ministry is actively working to combat the spread of misinformation and encourages individuals to verify any information related to religious matters through official channels. Staying informed through trusted sources is crucial, especially during significant religious observances like Ramadan.
The dissemination of false information can create confusion and potentially disrupt the peace and solemnity of Ramadan. The Ministry remains committed to providing accurate and timely updates to the public, ensuring clarity and preventing the spread of harmful rumors.
