Tipaza Offers Loans for Cold Storage Construction

Tipaza, Algeria – The Directorate of Agricultural Services for the Tipaza province has announced the availability of bank loans, up to 150 million Algerian dinars, to support the construction of cold storage facilities for agricultural producers.

The initiative, dubbed the “Cold Storage Loan,” is backed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries. It aims to facilitate the creation of cold storage units with capacities ranging from 300 to 5000 cubic meters. The size of the facility will be tailored to the specific activity and production capacity of each investor, ensuring it aligns with their storable produce volume.

According to the Directorate, several public banks are participating in the loan program, including BEA, BDL, BADR, CNEP, CPA, and BNA. These institutions will provide the financial backing necessary for farmers and landowners to invest in crucial post-harvest infrastructure.

The availability of these loans is expected to significantly reduce post-harvest losses, improve product quality, and stabilize market prices for agricultural goods in the Tipaza region. The initiative is part of a broader national strategy to modernize the agricultural sector and enhance food security.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact their local agricultural subdivisions or the Directorate of Agricultural Services for further information and application details.
