Algiers, January 7, 2026 – The National Pension Fund (CNRet) has issued an important announcement regarding the renewal of identification documents for all beneficiaries of pensions and allowances born in January. The fund is urging these individuals to complete the renewal process during the month of January 2026.
In a statement released today, the CNRet highlighted the implementation of a modern, digital method designed to streamline the renewal process and eliminate the need for beneficiaries to visit local agencies in person. This new system is accessible through the “RetraiteDZ” mobile application.
For those receiving direct pensions, the statement specifically encourages the use of the facial recognition feature (R-Face) within the app. This feature serves to confirm the beneficiary’s continued existence, a crucial step in maintaining uninterrupted pension payments.
Regarding transferred pensions, the process involves identity verification through facial recognition, scanning the required documents (depending on individual circumstances), and uploading them directly via the application. All steps are clearly explained within the app.
“Upon successful completion of the process, beneficiaries will receive a notification via the RetraiteDZ application confirming the remote renewal of their documents,” the statement added.
The National Pension Fund reiterated its policy of requiring document renewal once a year, aligned with the month of birth of each pensioner. This initiative is part of the CNRet’s ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and simplify administrative procedures for its beneficiaries. The Fund emphasized its commitment to providing accessible and efficient services through technological advancements.
