The United States Ambassador to Algeria has issued a farewell message upon the completion of her tenure, expressing gratitude to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the Algerian people.
Following a meeting with the President, the Ambassador stated, “The Algerian people will always hold a special place in my heart. Wherever I am and whatever my position, I will remain a friend of Algeria and will always strive to strengthen bilateral relations and consolidate the bonds between the Algerian and American people.”
The outgoing Ambassador reflected on her professional experience in Algeria, describing it as a “meaningful and fruitful experience.” She noted that this was not her first posting in Algeria, having previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission from 2011 to 2014, during which time she developed “deep feelings and a profound love for this wonderful country,” she said.
She conveyed her deep admiration for Algeria, characterizing it as a “distinct country with a rich culture and a generous and well-mannered population.”
The Ambassador also highlighted the depth of Algerian-American relations, considering them to be “strong, growing, and built on a foundation of shared values and goals, mutual respect, and friendship.” The United States and Algeria maintain cooperation across a range of sectors, including security, trade, and cultural exchange.
