Algiers, DZWatch News – The Algerian Radio is preparing to commemorate Yennayer, the Amazigh New Year 2976, with a special cultural program themed “Our Heritage… A Mark in the Annals of Humanity.” This initiative underscores the radio’s commitment to its media mission and its vital role in promoting national heritage and preserving collective memory.
The program, spearheaded by the Channel II radio station, reflects the Algerian Radio’s dedication to showcasing Algeria’s rich cultural heritage and highlighting its historical, civilizational, and human dimensions. A particular focus will be placed on UNESCO World Heritage sites and treasures, recognizing them as integral components of shared human heritage.
Scheduled for January 11, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM at the Algerian Radio headquarters, the event will feature diverse cultural segments, including heritage exhibitions and a scholarly symposium. Experts and researchers will participate in discussions centered on the protection and valorization of Algerian heritage.
