Prime Minister Chairs Government Meeting on Key Projects

Prime Minister, Sifi Grib, presided over a government meeting on Wednesday dedicated to examining several important projects. The discussions centered around initiatives aimed at improving vocational training and addressing regional development needs.

Initially, the government reviewed a draft executive decree outlining the procedures for apprentices to benefit from accommodation within employer-owned facilities or residences affiliated with public vocational training institutions. This project seeks to establish a mechanism for ensuring apprentice housing and improving their training conditions. The initiative directly addresses the challenge posed by the geographical distance between some vocational training institutions or the headquarters of economic enterprises and the apprentices’ places of residence.

Furthermore, the government received a presentation on the progress of supplementary programs benefiting the provinces of Khenchela, Tissemsilt, Djelfa, and Tindouf, as approved by the President. The presentation focused on the material and financial status of these programs, which are showing significant completion rates. Existing obstacles in ongoing projects were also highlighted, with the aim of overcoming them and completing operations within the set deadlines.

The government also heard a presentation on the annual report concerning major risks for 2024. This report included an analysis of the most significant risks recorded during the year, aspects of disaster preparedness and response, and a series of recommendations aimed at reducing risks and improving and adapting the national disaster risk management system.

Finally, the Prime Minister informed the members of the government of the President’s decision to support the national livestock market in anticipation of Eid al-Adha. This support will be implemented through the import of one million heads of sheep. The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries has been tasked with immediately undertaking the necessary measures to implement this decision.
