Federal Agents Involved in Portland Shooting After Minneapolis Incident

Portland, Oregon – Tensions are high in Portland following a shooting incident involving federal agents that left two people hospitalized. The incident occurred just a day after a separate shooting in Minneapolis, adding to the already heightened anxieties within the community.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the shooting involving federal employees took place earlier today. “There are two individuals currently in the hospital following a shooting involving federal personnel,” stated Police Chief Bob Day. He urged the community to remain calm as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the event. “We understand the heightened emotions and anxieties many are feeling in the wake of the Minneapolis shooting, but I am asking the community to remain calm while we work to learn more,” Chief Day added.

Local police clarified that their officers were not involved in the initial shooting but responded to calls for assistance shortly afterward. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They immediately administered aid, applying tourniquets to stem the bleeding and calling for emergency medical services.

The FBI has confirmed they are investigating the shooting, which involved agents from Customs and Border Protection. The Department of Homeland Security, the parent agency of the involved agents, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the individuals were in a vehicle and attempted to “ram the agents” who then responded by firing their weapons. This narrative closely mirrors the official account provided in the Minneapolis shooting.

The condition of the injured individuals remains unknown at this time. Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the Portland shooting are also still unclear. DZWatch will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as they become available.
