Algeria Post Unveils Ambitious 2026 Restructuring Plan

Algiers, January 8, 2026 – Algeria Post is embarking on a comprehensive restructuring project slated for completion in 2026. The initiative aims to modernize operations, enhance service quality, and reinforce customer service standards across the nation.

Director General of Algeria Post, Shiraz Bechiri, chaired a virtual meeting on Thursday, bringing together regional directors from postal units across all Algerian provinces. The meeting served as the launchpad for the ambitious restructuring plan.

According to a statement released by Algeria Post, the 2026 restructuring project is centered on several key pillars. These include the modernization of postal infrastructure, a significant improvement in the quality of services offered, and a renewed commitment to a robust customer service charter.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the critical need to maintain clean and well-organized postal facilities. Ensuring the smooth operation of automated teller machines (ATMs) was also highlighted as a priority. Furthermore, the Director General stressed the importance of providing high-quality reception services and treating customers with utmost courtesy and respect. Improvements to the overall performance of the postal network were also discussed.

In preparation for the upcoming Ramadan period in 2026, Director General Bechiri underscored the importance of guaranteeing the continuous availability of cash at post office counters and ATMs. She also emphasized the need to bolster technical readiness and to recognize and reward high-performing units based on the results of nationwide surveys.

Bechiri further emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate staffing levels, particularly in remote areas, and strengthening security measures to guarantee the continuity of public service.

In closing, the Director General reiterated that the envisioned transformation of Algeria Post by 2026 is founded on the principles of discipline, accountability, and the collective effort of all staff and management.
