Hamas Warns Mediators: Israeli Violations Threaten Gaza Deal

Gaza – Hamas has reportedly informed mediators overseeing the Gaza ceasefire agreement of its strong condemnation of ongoing Israeli violations of the accord. Palestinian sources indicate that the Islamist movement conveyed its concerns to the mediators, emphasizing that alleged assassination operations carried out by Israeli forces, under what Hamas describes as false pretenses, are placing the agreement at risk of collapse.

The warning comes amidst reports in the Israeli press suggesting a lack of political consensus regarding the next phase of the agreement. According to a report in Haaretz, security sources indicate that the Israeli political leadership has yet to order preparations for a withdrawal from positions within Gaza or the commencement of the agreement’s second stage. Military leaders reportedly believe that a transition to the next phase should not occur until the remains of the final Israeli prisoner are recovered.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that the death toll from what it describes as Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,409, with 171,304 injured. The ministry stated that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 14 fatalities and 17 injuries in the past 24 hours. While the statement did not detail the circumstances surrounding these casualties, reports indicate that Israeli forces conducted airstrikes targeting displaced persons’ tents, residences, and a shelter school on Thursday. These strikes allegedly resulted in the deaths of 13 Palestinians, including two sibling children, according to a statement released by civil defense authorities.

These recent incidents are part of a series of alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, which went into effect on October 10, 2025. The ongoing tensions raise concerns about the long-term viability of the agreement and the potential for renewed conflict in the region.
