Algiers – The Ministry of Vocational Training and Education has announced an extension to the deadline for exceptional promotions related to pending files from 2024. This decision impacts a wide range of institutions within the vocational training sector.
A formal communication, issued by the Directorate of Human Resources, specifically the Sub-Directorate of Employees, has been distributed to directors of vocational training and education across all provinces. The directive addresses the ongoing process of exceptional promotions within the vocational training and education sector.
The memo encompasses various entities, including provincial directorates of vocational training and education, national specialized institutes for vocational training, vocational education institutes, and vocational training and apprenticeship centers. It also includes those in charge of administrative affairs at the National Institute for Vocational Training and Education in Algiers, and the National Institution for Educational and Pedagogical Equipment for the vocational training and education sector.
The core of the communication concerns the extended deadline for realizing the exceptional promotion process, funded through the automatic transfer of occupied financial positions as of December 31, 2024. This extension is supported by several attachments, including a copy of communication number 153 from the Directorate General of Public Service and Administrative Reform, dated January 6, 2026.
This measure follows directives from the Minister and is part of ongoing efforts to implement the exceptional promotion process. The decision to extend the deadline was made after obtaining approval and in accordance with the outcomes of a meeting held on October 2, 2025, at the headquarters of the Directorate General of Public Service and Administrative Reform. The meeting focused on defining and studying the methods for implementing the exceptional promotion process through the automatic transfer of financial positions occupied as of December 31, 2024.
The Directorate confirmed that the Directorate General of Public Service and Administrative Reform has officially approved the extension of the exceptional promotion process until 2026, under the same conditions and procedures. This extension provides further opportunity for eligible individuals within the vocational training sector to benefit from this initiative.
