Algiers – A comprehensive guide has been released by the General Directorate of Human Resources at the Ministry of Education, aiming to clarify the teacher recruitment process for the year 2025. The guide addresses concerns and questions surrounding the organization and execution of recruitment competitions for primary, middle, and secondary school teacher positions.
This explanatory document, issued through the Directorate of Human Resources and its dedicated inquiry monitoring cell, seeks to ensure the consistent and accurate application of all regulatory procedures governing the competition. It provides detailed clarifications on various aspects, notably the precise circumstances under which applications may be rejected.
According to the guide, application rejections are strictly limited to specific cases. These include failure to submit essential documents such as a copy of the national identity card, a copy of the required qualification or certificate accompanied by transcripts, a certified copy of proof of national service status, and a residency card.
The Ministry emphasizes strict adherence to residency criteria for employees applying from outside their respective provinces, with exceptions only for positions and subjects authorized by the Ministry. Applications will also be rejected if the qualification or certificate does not align with the list of qualifications specified in the joint ministerial decree dated September 28, 2025, and its annex.
Furthermore, the guide clarifies the evaluation criteria for academic or training pathways. The assessment of academic performance is based on the overall average of the academic path leading to the qualification, in accordance with Article 5 of the decree dated July 15, 2014, as amended. The reference number of years is determined based on the type of qualification, whether it is a Master’s degree after a Bachelor’s or Engineering degree, an Engineering degree through various pathways, or a Bachelor’s degree in both the classical and (LMD) systems, including cases obtained after a university studies certificate.
This detailed guidance aims to streamline the recruitment process and ensure fairness and transparency for all applicants seeking to join the Algerian teaching profession.
