Israeli Airstrikes Hit Gaza as Military Admits Killing 3 Palestinians

Israeli warplanes conducted airstrikes on various locations within the Gaza Strip early Sunday, following the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to others by Israeli fire on Saturday. Witnesses reported plumes of smoke rising from the targeted areas, adding to the already tense atmosphere in the region.

DZWatch sources on the ground confirmed that the airstrikes targeted areas near Rafah and Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, as well as the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central region. The extent of the damage and casualties from the latest strikes is still being assessed.

On Saturday, the Israeli military acknowledged killing three Palestinians in separate incidents across the Gaza Strip. The military claimed the individuals posed an immediate threat to its forces operating in the area. According to a statement, soldiers from the 188th Brigade Combat Team, operating in southern Gaza, identified three armed Palestinians crossing what it referred to as the “yellow line” and approaching their position. The military alleged that one of the Palestinians attempted to steal military equipment before fleeing.

The statement further claimed that the Israeli Air Force, acting on intelligence from the brigade’s fire control system, conducted an airstrike that killed the alleged “armed individual” west of the yellow line. In a separate incident in northern Gaza, the military stated it identified several “armed men” crossing the yellow line and approaching their forces, which it deemed an immediate threat. Troops reportedly opened fire, killing two of the individuals.

Palestinian medical sources reported that Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and injured several others in separate attacks throughout the Gaza Strip on Saturday. These sources also confirmed that a number of Palestinians were wounded in an airstrike near the entrance to the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses have stated that the areas targeted by the Israeli military were regions from which Israeli forces had supposedly withdrawn under the terms of the ceasefire agreement. These incidents represent a continued pattern of alleged Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10, 2025.

DZWatch continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available.
