An Israeli soldier sustained moderate injuries during what the Israeli military described as an operational activity in the city of Nablus. The incident involved armed clashes between Palestinian resistance fighters and the Israeli army.
The Israeli military stated that they are currently pursuing the individual responsible for shooting the soldier. The incident occurred following the reported infiltration of Israeli special forces into the Old City of Nablus, located in the northern West Bank.
Reports indicate that military reinforcements were dispatched to the vicinity of the Old City following the outbreak of clashes. The operation in Nablus is ongoing, with Israeli forces continuing their search for the shooter and deploying additional troops to cordon off the area.
There are also reports of incursions into the Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, with accounts of house raids and intermittent clashes. Sources indicate that undercover Israeli forces, disguised in civilian vehicles bearing Palestinian license plates, entered the Yasmina neighborhood in Nablus’ Old City early this morning.
Upon being discovered by local residents, the special forces unit was reportedly met with gunfire, prompting their retreat and a request for military reinforcements. Israeli forces have deployed snipers on rooftops in the Old City, coinciding with a significant military presence and reports of sporadic gunfire amidst a complete blockade of the area.
In a separate incident, the Israeli military claimed its forces fired upon a Palestinian individual who allegedly attempted to run over soldiers in Hebron. Furthermore, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Israeli forces prevented their medical teams from reaching a wounded young man in the Khalla Hadoor area, located in central Hebron.
