Bordj Badji Mokhtar, January 11, 2026 – A fire in a commercial establishment claimed the life of one individual in the municipality of Bordj Badji Mokhtar early this morning. The incident occurred in a grocery store located in the Hai November 1st district.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze and responded swiftly to the scene. According to a statement released by the Civil Protection services, firefighters arrived at approximately 5:43 AM and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties.
Tragically, one person was found deceased within the premises. The victim was subsequently transported to the morgue at the local hospital.
